Working with the MCA V3 Portal - A Practical Preparation Guide

A practical guide to master-data checks, user roles, attachments, digital signatures, and filing records for MCA portal work.

General professional information

Key points

  • Validate master data before preparing a form.
  • Confirm user roles, DSC readiness, and attachments.
  • Retain acknowledgements and update the statutory record.

Begin with the corporate record

Portal preparation should start with the entity's master data, authorised users, pending forms, and the corporate action behind the proposed filing. Portal entry cannot correct an unclear or incomplete underlying record.

Organise access and signing dependencies

Confirm the relevant user account, business-user association, digital-signature status, signatories, and professional-certification requirements before the form is finalised.

  • Entity and signatory master data
  • Business-user role and access
  • Digital signature validity and association
  • Supporting resolutions and attachments
  • Pre-scrutiny and payment readiness

Review attachments as part of the filing

Attachments should be legible, internally consistent, appropriately authorised, and named in a way that supports review. A technically uploaded attachment is not necessarily a complete supporting record.

Close the loop after submission

Retain the service request number, payment record, acknowledgement, and filed form. Update the relevant register, minute book, compliance tracker, and document repository so the filing remains connected to the corporate record.

This note provides general information only. Applicability, forms, timelines, and professional requirements should be reviewed for the specific entity and matter.
